Just Jerry
We went to the symphony...the pop series of course. I can't say no to frank sinatra, Utah symphony, the price of student tickets, the company, and oh yeah-- jerry. Jerry is the conductor, and he's great. He's half of the show. We love him :)

happy pday

i told myself that i couldn't sit at home today and do nothing (as appealing as that seems sometimes).
i knew if i headed up to the wards house, it woudn't be a boring day.
i was right.
we started out going on a walk.
i made liza and lindsey tell me secrets.
once olivia joined us, carson took us up to go 4wheeling.
have you ever been wheeling in the snow?
it's a little different than 4wheeling in the dirt (which i would say i'm comfortable doing)
2 machines got stuck a total of 3 times.
one machine almost did a full 360 and almost plummeted off a cliff to a fiery death.
my machine was not one to get stuck.
it did do an almost 360 and there was a kind of ledge that was about 10 feet away that i was afraid of sliding right off of.....but that didn't happen.
we came home. thawed our frozen bods. made homemade pizza and chilled out by the fire.
and for a small chunk of the day i wore 3 pairs of pants. at the same time.
so there you have it. hope you had a great presidents day.
to you and yours.

just another reason why i love my phone
you know that friend you haven't talked to in a long time? the one that you couldn't survive without that one summer? the one that was always there to make you laugh? the one that knew all of your secrets? the one that was part of secret clubs with you?
we talked. and it was just what i needed...even if i didn't really know what i needed beforehand. when you can encourage them, and in return they encourage you. you tell them life is the same and boring, and they tell you the same thing. you tell them that life is hard sometimes, and they agree but can remind you that hard usually means a breakthrough is on it's way. JUST. WHAT. I. NEEDED.

curse you, pintrest
sometimes i see things on pintrest and i just can't get it out of my head until i make it myself. this is a skirt you can find at anthropologie for $258.
this is a skirt tutorial to make your own for much much much less.
ryan and halie were coming up for a dinner on friday night and needed a babysitter. sold.
melissa caught wind and decided to come up and help me babysit, thus a night for crafting and babysitting was born. i went to D.I. and found this beauty:
and we turned it into this beauty:
it's obviously not perfect, but i'm still happy with how it turned out. it was a fairly easy project, and was alot of fun to see it take shape. there are things i would change next time around. you craft....you learn. right?
in the end, the skirt cost me 7 bucks.
buttons 4 bucks.
i'd say we saved quite a bundle!!
let me tell you what was perfect about the night:

score
that's what the text from my mom said when i texted her a picture of a buffet table i found in a consignment shop today. and then i bought it.
and then i came home a rearranged my front room. i'm loving it!! i spent the afternoon arranging different things on the mantle and our new tv stand :)
#22 Observe surgery at work
I've been wanting to observe surgery at work and cindy having surgery was the perfect excuse for me to do it.
ps. cindy isn't blinking in these pictures, she was supposed to have her eyes closed and was just a good sport about us letting her take her picture. and in case you were wondering, observing surgery was just plain cool.

#27 Attend the symphony
my mom always chuckles when i tell her how much i love the symphony...you know, that i-told-you-so-why-couldn't-you-have-liked-it-when-you-were-in-orchestra kind of chuckle.
i like the symphony. i love going to the symphony with this crew. best friend and cousin laura is exactly 8 months older than me. you know what that means? we celebrated her 30th birthday over the weekend (since her actualy birthday is TODAY!!)
dinner. waffles. see me run. symphony. charleston chews.
what a perfect night, and icing on the cake - i got to cross something off my list!!
love you, laura. i've always loved that you have a good 8 months to give our new age a try and let me know what to expect. i think you are right, 2012 is a great year to turn 30 :)
