temples

I am a lucky girl.

I have always loved the Salt Lake City temple, partly because of my pioneer heritage and the sacrifice of the early saints. Partly because my grandpa has been serving in the Salt Lake temple for 25 years...practically my whole life. And now, the Salt Lake temple is my temple. My ward temple nights? Salt Lake temple. I know that all temple worship is the same, but there is still something special about being in the Salt Lake temple. I love it.

As I mentioned before, Grandpa serves in the temple, and once a year they have a devotional for all temple workers. Grandpa usually gets an extra ticket to bring a family member with him. This year he got two tickets, and asked if Lindsey and I would join him for the meeting.

So last Sunday, we went to the temple and listed to Elder Richard G. Scott speak to us. I love being in the temple. I love being instructed in the temple. I love being with family in the temple. Overall, it was a really good day.

They have recently opened scaled model of the Salt Lake Temple in the South Visitors Center on Temple Square. It is incredible. If you haven't been to see it yet, it's not just for visitors of other faiths. It is an awesome tool to teach our own families about the importance of temples and the sacred work that goes on within the walls.

The model shows an open view of the inside of the temple. It's amazing the detail they went to.

(pictures of the model were found here)

Temples and temple worship are a big part of my life. I'm so grateful for the opportunity I had to go with my grandpa and cousin to such a wonderful meeting.
